In organic synthetic reactions, chemists often have to use hazardous reagents that may be toxic, lachrymatory, pyrophoric or potentially explosive. Such reagents need to be treated with caution, and the chemist is obliged to complete a risk assessment before being able to use them.

Chemists need to be able to enter data quickly and easily, and to be able to see the changes to respective calculations as values are changed. The stoichiometry interface of our web-based E-WorkBook Chemistry ELN is undergoing a re-design, to provide a better user experience by formatting the data on the screen so it is easy to consume.

With web-based E-Workbook Chemistry, we have provided capabilities for the user to easily describe the respective nature of the component, without having to perform separate calculations on a piece of paper in their notebook.

It’s been a busy summer and our development team have been working hard to build upon the E-WorkBook chemistry ELN capabilities, provided in the 10.1.2 release. We will be writing more about these features in coming blog posts, but briefly speaking, 10.1.3 offers the following new functionality.
