Pietro Forgione

General Manager, IDBS

Pietro has spent the last 16 years at IDBS with responsibilities for EMEA sales, Global Key Accounts, and most recently, as Vice President of Product, Strategy and Marketing. In this role, he was instrumental in defining IDBS’ strategy and competitive positioning, working with the teams designing and launching Polar as our category-defining BioPharma Lifecycle Management offering, and building a talented team of leaders.

Pietro has a BSc in Biotechnology from the University of Nottingham.

Brad Hopper, General manager of Quantrix

Brad Hopper

General Manager & Chief Product Officer, Quantrix

Brad Hopper is the General Manager and Chief Product Officer of Quantrix. In this role, Brad manages all aspects of the Quantrix business, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering and P&L responsibility.

Brad has 25 years of Product Strategy, Product Marketing and team Leadership experience in the areas of data analytics, business intelligence and multi-dimensional modeling. Twice a UC Berkeley engineer, with multiple patents completed and underway, Brad specializes in helping organizations creatively apply technology to industry specific problems, delivering value in Finance, Manufacturing, Energy and other data intensive, operational areas.

Brad is a servant leader, believing that the way to success is always through collaboration and team development. – “I want my team to be happy and productive, in that order.”

Claire Authurs, DBSL and VP Engineering

Claire Arthurs

Danaher Business System Leader & Interim Vice President, Engineering

Claire is the Danaher Business System Leader (DBSL) for IDBS and interim VP of Engineering. As the DBS Leader, she supports the business in driving continuous improvement by implementing best practices from the DBS toolkit. As the interim VP of Engineering, she is responsible for leading the software engineering organization, building new product capabilities, as well as accelerating the SaaS-ification of the business through technology, culture, talent and process leadership. 

Claire joined IDBS in 2009 as a Chemistry Software Tester. Before that, she worked as an analytical scientist at Servier Laboratories. In her previous roles at IDBS, Claire led the Scrum Master function and held the Engineering DBSL role before moving full-time into the DBSL team in 2022. 

Claire holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an MChem in Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry, both from the University of Manchester. 

Scott Weiss

Scott Weiss

Vice President, Product & Strategy

Scott is responsible for shaping the strategy for our product portfolio. He leads a product team focused on partnering with our customer base to architect a compelling future aligned with our vision of advancing human health by accelerating the next generation of life-changing therapies.

He has held multiple leadership roles over his 19-year tenure at IDBS and has a deep understanding of our products, markets and customers.

Most recently as VP of Business Development & Open Innovation, Scott led our OI strategy to expand our technology and channel partner network.

Before joining IDBS, Scott spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he led multiple drug-development programs from conceptualization to entry into clinical trials, and has authored over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers and patents.

He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Leeds, specializing in Neuroscience.

Liz Tyler

Liz Tyler

Vice President, Customer Operations

Liz leads our global services, customer support and quality functions. She has been instrumental in helping to position IDBS as the industry leader in quality accreditation.

In her previous role as Senior Director of Quality & Operations, Liz led teams responsible for Corporate Quality Assurance and Sales & Services Operations.

She joined IDBS in 2014, having previously worked for Novartis in various IT management & leadership roles including Clinical Development IT and CIO UK and Ireland Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, Liz was a Consultant at Accenture.

She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and a BSc Hons in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.

Dave Watrous

Dave Watrous

Vice President, Sales, Customer Success and Marketing

Dave leads the commercial functions responsible for positioning our solutions in the market, acquiring new customers and expanding our existing customer accounts. He brings a clear focus on growing our business by delivering the full value of IDBS to each and every one of our customers and at every stage of their buying journey.

Dave brings over 20 years of experience in leading operational and commercial teams in the CDMO, CRO and Life Science markets. He previously held senior commercial roles in BioPharma companies including Covance and Cytiva, where he led a team responsible for more than $200M in revenue.

He has an academic background in the life sciences, with one BSc in Genetics, Cell Biology & Development, and another in Biochemistry, both from the University of Minnesota. He then pursued graduate studies in Cancer Biology at the University of Wisconsin, where he left his PhD program with a master’s to take advantage of opportunities in the industry.

Anne Thompson

Anne Thompson

Senior Director, Finance

Anne joined IDBS in 2001 and is the Senior Director of Finance, leading the Finance organization.

Whilst at IDBS, Anne has led the Finance team through the growth of IDBS and has been the Finance lead for all acquisitions.

Prior to joining IDBS, Anne worked in a variety of industries including Manufacturing and Software.

She became a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1985.

Harjit Basra, Director of HR

Harjit Basra

Senior Director, Human Resources

Harjit Basra joined IDBS in September 2021 as Senior Director Human Resources and leads the company’s Human Resources activities across the globe.

Harjit started her journey within the Life Science platform at Danaher in 2012 and joined us directly from Leica Microsystems, where she performed various HR Business Partnering roles.  Her last position was HR Lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Harjit is an international leader with a proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams. She has over 20 years’ experience in HR and remains very passionate about creating a trusting, culturally diverse, transparent environment where we share best practice and driving continuous development throughout the organization.

Harjit is a Chartered member of the CIPD, holds a master’s degree in Strategic HR Management and a bachelor’s honors degree in Psychology.
