Bend Bioscience: Lessons in Building Connected Lab Operations Across Development and GMP
Laboratory operations become increasingly complex as organizations grow. Managing materials, samples, equipment, documentation, and quality processes across development and GMP environments can introduce operational bottlenecks that impact productivity, consistency, and scalability.
In this webinar, Bend Bioscience shared practical lessons from its journey to standardize and connect laboratory operations across development and GMP. Drawing on its experience with IDBS Polar, the team discussed how it established a strong operational foundation by connecting inventory, workflows, traceability, and quality controls within a unified framework. Viewers will learn how Bend Bioscience approached the standardization of laboratory processes, improved visibility across materials, equipment, and samples, and replaced paper-based activities with digital workflows designed to support both operational efficiency and compliance.
The session also explored how Bend Bioscience balanced the flexibility required by development teams with the controls needed for GMP operations, while continuing to support business growth and evolving customer programs. Through real-world examples and lessons learned, viewers will gain practical insights into reducing operational friction, improving consistency, and building a scalable foundation for laboratory operations that can support growth, quality, and long-term success.
