IDBS I3 2025
IQVIA Laboratories Uses IDBS Polar to Improve Data Integrity, Automation, and Lab Efficiency
Jennifer Crovatto, Operational Effectiveness Manager at IQVIA Laboratories, explains how the IDBS Polar lab informatics platform is transforming day-to-day laboratory operations across global sites.
In this interview, Jennifer shares how IQVIA Laboratories is using Polar to replace paper-based and Excel-driven processes with structured digital templates that improve user adoption, reduce manual errors, and strengthen overall data integrity. She highlights how built-in audit trails, real-time validation checks, and automated alerts, such as hard stops for out-of-calibration equipment, help ensure compliance and prevent invalid data from being saved to the system. The platform also supports QA/QC teams through deviation reporting and centralized metrics, enabling better visibility into recurring issues, training needs, and process improvements.
Additionally, Jennifer describes how close collaboration with scientists helped tailor templates to real workflows, including automating repetitive tasks like standardized email generation for sample management, further reducing errors and saving time. IQVIA Laboratories is a global provider of laboratory services supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology research with advanced technologies and scientific expertise.
