Meet our speakers
Scott Weiss
VP, Product & Strategy, IDBS
Scott Weiss is responsible for developing IDBS’ expanding network of technology and channel partners. He joined IDBS in 2004 and has held senior leadership roles in consultancy, product management and strategy.
Prior to joining IDBS, Scott spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he led multiple drug-development programs from conceptualization to entry into clinical trials and as VP BD & Innovation at IDBS authored over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers and patents.
He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Leeds, specializing in Neuroscience.
Helen Bravo
Director, Solutions Consulting, IDBS
Helen leads a team that collaborates with customers to solve their scientific data challenges using IDBS’ innovative data management solutions. She is dedicated to empowering scientists and BioPharma organizations to meet their business goals efficiently.
Helen spent 16 years in the BioPharma and software spaces combined. Prior to IDBS, she led an electronic notebook project for Biologics Analytical Science, aligning it with departmental goals and budgets. Helen’s expertise in comprehensive laboratory practices, GxP and nonGxP and data management enables her to translate complex scientific concepts into actionable insights.
She holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MBA with a focus on Digital Innovation and Information Systems.
Melanie Juba
Head of Product Management, IDBS
Melanie leads the global product strategy, roadmap and innovation.
Melanie has been part of the Danaher family for nine years, working at Sciex where she started in the applications team, focusing on solving customer challenges in BioPharma and omics workflows. She then held a variety of roles across the organization, including the commercial sales team and BioPharma business unit driving market growth in the life sciences markets through direct sales, marketing and product management.
Melanie has a PhD in Chemistry & Biochemistry from George Mason University where she worked on physico-chemical characterization and mass spectral identification of therapeutic proteins. To further her knowledge of mass spectrometry in other biological applications she continued on to do a post-doc.
