The customer was looking to up its data management game by replacing their paper-based data management approach with something more sophisticated. When the pandemic ebbed, it decided it was time to act.  

While it was searching for a simple paper replacement ELN, the genetics pharma company was blown away by IDBS’ offering and its original ask turned into a solution that could fulfil its validation requirements.  

The solution criteria

Together, the customer and IDBS explored additional functionalities and outlined the validation requirements, which would be a must-have in the near future.

The customer decided to go ahead – The big selling point was the validation capabilities, particularly the IQ and OQ, so the company didn’t need to deploy such complicated workflows itself. 

The validation services was a big differentiator: it made the spreadsheet capability more enticing.  

The software will do the validation and free up scientist’ time so they can focus on science.  

A quality assurance specialist highlighted: “This is a no-brainer. If someone can automate the validation, the amount of time freed up will directly impact productivity.”  

The customer was interested in more but decided to take things as they come, with room for growth in the near future.
