Sealy Inc Plans to Improve Research and Manufacture through Introduction of IDBS' ELN
Guildford, UK, May 22, 2007 – IDBS today announces the sale of its novel electronic notebook (E-WorkBook) to Sealy Inc (NC, USA) to help improve efficiency and promote corporate compliance.
Sealy Inc, the largest bedding manufacturer in North America and market leader, plans to implement E-WorkBook at its research and manufacturing facility, where it will be used to assist in the capturing and reporting of product engineering, testing and development. Using this electronic approach to data capture and reporting will facilitate compliance to pending regulatory standards in addition to managing its intellectual assets.
Dr. Alan Letton, Chief Scientific Officer for Sealy Inc, said: “Our just-in-time manufacturing process demands consistent and clear collection and distribution of information. E-WorkBook gives us a tool to ensure the capture of both new and existing information and a means to present it to the right people at the right time. These attributes can also be applied to our development teams, who are more able to search information in this environment. Significantly, full audit trials and access control promote compliance to increasingly stringent regulatory demands.”
Neil Kipling, founder and CEO of IDBS, added: “Sealy Incorporated are the latest in an increasing number of industry leaders who recognize the significance of digitizing manufacturing and research information in order to improve delivery and productivity. What’s more, managing data in a more structured way and allowing controlled access to that data supports better decision-making within an organization.”
