IDBS Omics Workbench provides a framework for analysis of all types of Omics data and provides simple to run analytics for labs of all sizes and configurations, particularly those with minimal bioinformatics support. This will help remove research bottlenecks and have a significant impact on the ability to easily analyze Omics data leading to better understanding of disease and the delivery of more personalized, targeted therapies.
As the cost of NGS declines, adoption in existing omics groups and new markets has been rapid. Many research and clinical groups have invested in such systems to work alongside their existing Omics techniques, which can lead to a variety of data integration, analysis, and reporting challenges. The rapidly expanding data sets are often in various formats, use incompatible algorithms and are housed in different systems, creating bottlenecks to integration and analysis. In addition, in many labs there is a significant shortage of bioinformatics skills or simply a lack of any staff with the expertise to regularly custom build and run analysis. And finally, the changing landscape of omics techniques and algorithms means there is always work to do to stay up to date with the latest developments.
