At IDBS, we are committed to protecting your privacy. Access to most of our site does not require you to provide us with any personal information, but sometimes we do need such information to provide services that you request. This statement of privacy explains data collection and use in those situations. Please read the complete IDBS privacy statement.
Collecting your Personal Information
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when you are asked to register when subscribing to e-mail newsletters, downloading software, viewing detailed product information, registering for our customer area or purchasing and registering IDBS products. Personal information collected by IDBS is often limited to name, e-mail address, country or location, but may include other information when needed to provide a service you requested. All personal details supplied to the IDBS website are encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.
On-line purchasing
If you choose to make a purchase on the IDBS web site, we will request personal information such as: name, address, affiliation, telephone number and shipping information. This is considered your personal profile. IDBS does not collect or store credit card details (see Security for more information).
When you buy and install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. Certain products also require the computer identification in order to generate a license registration keycode. This information will be transferred to the Site during the registration process to generate your keycode. When you register your product electronically, we keep this registration information on file with any information you've already given us on previous visits to our Web site.
Security
Credit Card transactions are safe and secure. All credit card numbers are encrypted by your web browser when orders are placed using SSL encryption. Credit card details are not collected by the IDBS website, but by WorldPay. They are only decrypted after they reach WorldPay's secure payment gateway. See http://www.WorldPay.com for more information. IDBS provides personal information, such as name, address, and telephone number, to WorldPay as this is required by WorldPay to complete the credit card transaction.
Use of your Personal Information
We use your personal information for three primary purposes:
To make the Site easier for you to use by reducing the amount of personal information we ask you to enter.
To help you quickly find software, services or information on IDBS and its products.
To alert you to new products, product upgrades, special offers, updated information and other new services from IDBS. (only if you opt-in to receiving these emails from IDBS)
IDBS will not disclose your personal information, except if required to do so by law or to protect and defend the rights or property of IDBS and its web sites.
Control of your Personal Information
When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, IDBS will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above.
IDBS will not rent or sell your name, address, e-mail address or personal information to any third party. IDBS may occasionally update you on news and special opportunities via e-mail. If you would prefer not to receive these updates, please send an email to webmaster@idbs.com with "REMOVE" in the subject line.
Security of your Personal Information
IDBS strictly protects the security of your personal information and honours your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Your personal information is never shared outside the company, except under the conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with restricted access. Your information may be stored and processed in the United Kingdom or any other country where IDBS, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are located.
