IDBS Consultants assist customers in maximizing the benefit from their IDBS software by providing onsite support, including installing, configuring, and customising IDBS products as well as delivering training courses. More experienced Consultants also participate in custom development projects for IDBS customers. This position is based in the Boston Area out of the Burlington office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure IDBS products at customer sites
- Build customized data analysis templates for customers
- Provide support and assistance during product upgrades
- Deliver standard IDBS product training courses
- Obtain feedback from customers to drive new product development
- Identify new sales opportunities within existing customer base
- Project management of personal work and other small consultancy projects
- Systems analysis, development, and/or testing for custom development projects, depending on skill set
- Requires overnight travel of approximately 25-50%.
Key Skills and Experience - Required
- BSc (MSc or PhD) in a Biological Science or Chemistry
- Experience of laboratory work in a pharmaceutical or biotech company
- OR
- Experience of laboratory informatics or laboratory automation work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- General IT skills and expert-level experience of Microsoft Excel
Key Skills and Experience - Desired
- Experience of using ActivityBase or similar biological/chemical data management software
- Experience with databases, including Oracle and SQL
- Systems analysis
- Project management
- Programming skills, including PL/SQL, VB, VBA, VB.NET, C#.NET, and JAVA
Consideration will be given to strong candidates with lesser experience. Presence of desirable skills will be a considerable advantage.
