IDBS are a global provider of data management solutions for the biological sciences, with products that encompass the entire research life-cycle within drug discovery. Our products and services are employed by most major pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the world.
We are currently expanding our US operations to support our growing portfolio of products and new customers. The professional services consultant is a customer facing role, that combines both technical and science-specific domain expertise to help design and deliver enterprise solutions to our customers.
The Role:
As a professional services consultant, you will be expected to help drive the entire lifecycle of a project from requirements gathering and documentation, scheduling, through to implementation, training and post-delivery customer support.
The Ideal Candidate will:
Combine a background in a life-sciences field with a strong interest in computer related technologies, particularly their application within the pharmaceutical sector to accelerate the drug-discovery process. Informatics professionals supporting these scientific areas are also welcome.
Key Qualifications and Traits
  • A life-sciences or informatics / computer science related degree. Graduate level MS or PhD qualifications are desirable, but not required, depending on work experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduate work experience within the life-sciences or pharmaceutical sector; reduced to 2 years if the applicant possesses a graduate level MS or PhD qualification.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - the ability to formulate targeted questions in identifying client needs and the ability to control an interview process.
  • Good technical writing skills - the ability to document requirements, particularly those that articulate scientific workflow and analysis needs
  • Demonstrable experience working within or supporting one or more of the following research disciplines:
    • Pharmacology
    • Drug-metabolism and Pharmacokinetics
    • Toxicology or Safety Sciences
  • Technical experience with 3 of the following areas or applications
    • Statistical analysis methods and their applications.
    • Computer programming skills: .NET, JAVA and Excel VBA
    • ActivityBase, ActivityExplorer or other LIMS systems
    • GraphPad Prism, SigmaPlot
    • WinNonLin
    • SAS, R, JMP or other major statistical package
Consideration will be given to strong candidates with lesser experience. Presence of desirable skills will be a considerable advantage.
